Concrete foundations
We use concrete foundations to support everything from garages and sheds to large multi-storey structures.
As each structure has a different purpose and support requirement, there are many variables to factor in before we can determine what foundation will be suitable.
It begins with compacting the subgrade to the right density. This requires expert knowledge of soil conditions and how to prepare them to specification. Then it takes the right mixing, workmanship and finishing to prevent the foundation from cracking, scaling or dusting.
Why choose a concrete foundation?
Concrete foundations are generally quick and easy to build compared to other types of foundations. They’re a cost-effective building solution and can support large amounts of weight. They’re also robust and are unaffected by extreme winter conditions where the ground freezes, which can create upward push.
There are many ways to build a concrete foundation, but typically we build solid slabs, slabs with footings and ribraft foundations, which use less concrete while remaining seismically strong and energy efficient.
