Decorative concrete
Decorative concrete adds colour, patterns and texture to paths, patio areas, pools, floors, driveways or any other area with concrete.
The types of decorative concrete
Polished concrete
Polishing concrete brings out the natural beauty of the stones and cement. It’s a process of grinding the slab with specialised machinery to achieve a polished surface. Polishing concrete creates a long-lasting and durable surface that needs little maintenance. As an indoor flooring option, it’s generally cheaper than tiles or hardwood floors.
Exposed aggregate
Exposed aggregate floors have the top layer of concrete removed to expose the stones in the mix. When we lay an exposed aggregate floor, we apply a retarder to the surface to stop it from setting so we can wash it away. You can leave it looking natural, seal the surface or add colour to achieve beautiful textured patterns.
Imprint and colours
Imprinted or stamped concrete has a pattern or texture pressed into the surface. While you might think this is new, patterning concrete was first done by the ancient Romans. There is a huge range of colours and patterns available including seals for a glossy finish, and patterns to resemble tiles, wood, brick, slate and more.
